Meet Matt

THE FOUNDER OF CARSWELL BUILDERS

I’m Matt Carswell, founder of Carswell Builders here in Austin, Texas. I was born and raised in Austin, and I’ve spent the last 24 years in construction here in Central Texas, building everything from commercial projects to some of Austin’s most detailed luxury custom homes.

Along the way I’ve learned that great homes come from clear plans, honest conversations, and a team that knows how to work together.

My background runs the full spectrum of the building world – pre-construction services, director of construction, strategic outlook and financial oversight. I’m as comfortable digging into budgets and schedules as I am walking a jobsite and solving problems with trade partners. I like to be hands-on, calm under pressure, and very intentional about process so clients feel informed and supported from the first meeting to move-in day.

I earned my Executive MBA from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor’s in Construction Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I also hold the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation through the National Association of Home Builders, which reflects my commitment to continually improving how we plan and build homes.

Over the years I’ve been honored with several industry and leadership awards, including multiple Project Manager of the Year awards for custom homes from the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin. What I’m most proud of are the long-term relationships and repeat clients that have come out of this work.

Off the job, you’ll usually find me supporting my church community, coaching youth, or outside enjoying water sports, mountain activities, and camping with family.
